#15: Podcastin'

Podcastin'

As I may have mentioned before, I am not a fan of my long commute. I spend nearly 3 hours a day commuting, so to stop my boredom levels, I am increasingly becoming a fan of the ol' podcast. I am a big fan of the pretty well-known Joy the Baker podcast, but am always on the look out for new things to listen to. A recent find are the History Chicks podcasts, which give you a brief overview of a famous female from the past. Educational and interesting is always a winner for me. Do you have any other suggestions?

#12: A Sunny Stroll in St Albans

St Albans cathedral

We spent this morning taking advantage of a peep of sunshine and heading over to nearby St Albans for coffee-turned-brunch at Cote, followed by a walk round the cathedral. It's too easy to fail to appreciate what's nearby, so it was so lovely to drive 3 miles away and do something different. The added bonus was stumbling over the farmer's market in the center afterwards, and taking full advantage of freshly made bread and brownies from a local mill! What did you do today?

#11: Tea and To-do

Tea and To do

Since the sunshine of last weekend has already returned to clouds and the threat of rain, today is for sorting my life out, armed with tea and a to do list. It's about time I waded through the assorted letters, envelopes and general mess littering my desk at home, and work out what actually needs keeping. Fun times ahead.

#9: Power of the Manatee

Calming Manatee
When things go wrong, summon a manatee. Today's particular wrongness = loosing the flat we were supposed to be moving into next week. Seems like London is just a whole different ball game when it comes to renting- any tips of wisdom? Or failing that, comedy cat gifs are also appreciated.

#7: Morning Light

May Day Swap

My journey to work isn't the prettiest- through suburbia to the train station, 25 minutes to whizz into London and then a noisy stroll coming out of Farringdon before reaching my desk. It's easy enough to stare straight ahead, but on the days I remember to look up to the sky, it's worth it.

#6: May Day Swap

May Day Swap

I took part in the may day swap recently organised by Dawn, and this is the charming little gift that arrived at home all the way from Texas! A flower press to help preserve spring, and some seeds for the national flower of Texas! Such a nature filled gift- so huge thanks to Nicole!
